Chiara Lucrezio Monticelli is Associate Professor in Modern History at the Department of History, Humanities and Society - University of Rome “Tor Vergata”. Her work focuses on 18th and 19th centuries history of Mediterrenean Europe, with a specific interest in social control institutions and Napoleonic Imperialism. On these topics, she has presented papers and took part in national and international research projects. She published several articles and the books "La polizia del papa. Istituzioni di controllo sociale a Roma nella prima metà dell'Ottocento" (Rubbettino, 2012) and "Roma seconda città dell’Impero. La conquista napoleonica dell’Italia mediterranea" (Viella, 2018).
